Has anyone else had a problem eating fruit after having gastric bypass surgery?

I guess there’s something in those particular fruits that cause you a problem. Doesn’t have to be a common problem amongst all GBS patients. The best thing to do would be to not eat those few things, don’t you think? It’s great that you can eat everything else, why let that bother you. You can do without cherries, strawberries and grapes, etc.).

Even people who have not had GBS surgery often have a problem with certain foods that they find they can’t tolerate. And, what they do is, === not eat them.

I know that’s not a great answer and I’m sorry. I just think that it doesn’t matter if other people have this same problem. That doesn’t make yours any less annoying to you. If YOU have the problem, you have to resolve it and the way to do that is to not eat the things that don’t agree with you.

ehh, sometimes if I eat really sugary fruit like grapes, I get kind of a crampy stomach, but most fruit sugars don’t bother me, it’s the skins that still cause problems for me, like peach and apple skins. sucrose causes me problems though, if i eat something with sugar, I get low blood sugars… so I have to be careful, not just because of the dumping, but it causes the hypoglycemia. I would recommend reading up on the glycemic index of foods, it may be the high glycemic index fruits that are a problem to you. I bought a book that I am waiting for a break in between classes to read, it is called The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Glycemic Index Weight Loss, that might be of interest to you.
I am 3 1/2 years out by the way
